During the week I spent at Xenia, I got more writing done than I would hav,e in months at home. The care and thoughtfulness of everyone there ensured that I felt comfortable and at ease from the moment I arrived so that I was free to concentrate on my work.
During the week I spent at Xenia, I got more writing done than I would have in months at home. The care and thoughtfulness of everyone there ensured that I felt comfortable and at ease from the moment I arrived so that I was free to concentrate on my work. The spindly winter trees, the herd of deer loping across the hill, the dozens of birds I wish I knew the names of the glistening lake, the quiet and delicious air all form an environment that both nurtures and inspires creativity.
I was made to feel extremely welcome and part of the community, with friendly people on hand to answer any questions and show me around. It was interesting to meet the other artist-in-residence and walk among the many sculptures and artwork nestled into the land.
The whiskery nose of a pony nibbling apple from my hand and watching the beautiful furry cows roam unencumbered was a restorative antidote to the pressures and rush of life in London. I am incredibly grateful to Bianca, Lucy, Jaye, Filipe, Malissa, and everyone in the Xenia community."
