To have the time and space to think, create and rest is the most precious resource as an artist. My time at Xenia was so generously given and so gratefully received. It coincided with a great storm, electricity cuts and howling wind, but nestled safely in their beautiful cottage I slept, ate and worked in total silence. It was bliss.

A month later I had the huge honour of presenting my piece of work, Domestic at the Houses of Parliament after being invited by Jess Phillips, MP.

The installation records the number of women killed by male violence in the U.K. over the last eight years. Whilst at Xenia I was able to write the talk I gave to the many MPs who came to see the work.

The space and serenity that Xenia generously gave me to prepare was a huge part of the success. Rosie Duffield MP, later discussed the work in Parliament, using the same words that I crafted at Xenia.

I am so thankful for the opportunity to stay and be enveloped by this vibrant artistic community.
