"Looking back at my time at Xenia a few months on, there is a a sense of the pivotal about my time there. One where I am still a little unsure of how it will develop or wholly manifest. During my time there I wasn’t sure if I was returning to something or arriving somewhere which I always wished had existed. I loved the companionable solitariness of my time there; with jubilant feelings of roaming free and a calmness of making. I often think about the reactive aspect of a city like London (where I was born and live) where throughout an artwork’s time in the studio being made you react to so much, exhibition openings, exhibitions and conversations. Xenia was that wonderful antidote and moment of reflection (revelation?) to see what was and remained within myself at this juncture in my life and eek something that was possibly being lost in the confusion of adult life."
