Testimonial
"The Xenia residency was, for me, a place of rest and quiet observation of Great Britain’s unique light. Each small-format piece was prepared on primed linen canvas. On these canvases, I applied thin layers of paint in succession. The unhurried pace of the residency allowed me to let each layer of glaze dry, creating a dialogue between the pigments. It also allowed me to immerse myself in each subject for several days before starting on the canvas, with the constraint of dedicating only a few hours to it. Of the 9 small studies I created, 7 are very satisfying, and although I consider them works in their own right, they will serve as a foundation for developing larger formats.”

Statement :
Silence.
The rustling of leaves.
The sound of my footsteps.
I remember the first times.
When I smelled that scent,
felt that very breeze.
Caressing my face,
blowing through my hair.
A bird cries.
The light flickers like a gentle fire.
The landscape seen in dreams
sings nameless emotions.
Icons of my childhood,
I am a comic book hero.
When was that.
Before,
before the waves.
And then
The scarlet clouds.
