Moshe Tarka is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tel Aviv. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1984, and the experience of migration and cultural transition deeply shapes his practice, which draws on Ethiopian mysticism, identity, and memory.

A self-taught artist, Moshe works intuitively, allowing chance and material exploration to guide the creation process before research begins. His recent work centres on the mystical concept of the Kule, a taboo entity within Ethiopian spiritual tradition, explored through sculpture, painting, technology, and industrial materials, including plaster, concrete, metal, and 3D printing.

Though accepted to the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in 2008, he chose an independent artistic path while studying industrial design at Sapir College. He later founded and directed an independent gallery in Tel Aviv supporting Ethiopian and peripheral artists.

Moshe is a fellow of the Mandel Leadership Program and recipient of the Plumes Foundation Prize (2023) and the Cultural Foundation Grant for Innovation in Art (2025). His work has been exhibited at the Eretz Israel Museum and the Ramat Gan Museum, and is held in private and public collections internationally. He will take part in a residency in Lagos in 2026 and is preparing a solo exhibition at the Agam Museum in 2027.
