"My time at Xenia was an amazing experience. The calm environment, natural beauty and space away from the city allowed me to focus on my work. I spent time walking on the land and seeing the animals in the farm. I started Xenia in the middle of Autumn and when I left it was the beginnings of winter. The view of the Autumn trees from my studio and the quality of light was very inspiring. Most of my work is based upon my surroundings, so Xenia helped me produce a number of paintings which have a different feel to the works I make in my London studio.  
Thank you to everyone at Xenia for making me feel at home and for the opportunity to work in such a beautiful part of the world, away from life's distractions for a month."

Lewis Brander grew up and was educated in the UK, where he studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He lives and works in London.

His first solo exhibition was with Vardaxoglou Gallery London in 2022. In 2023, he was awarded a place on the inaugural Tracey Emin Artist Residency at the Tracey Emin Foundation in Margate, UK. The Vardaxoglou Gallery represents him in London.
