Testimonial
"The days were short and the nights were long. It was a surreal experience.
To travel across continents with my 9-month-old baby, to situate ourselves in this green corner of the world for 2 weeks of our lives, was a jolt to my being. It was an intense, emotional and mental experience where preconceived boundaries of making art, mothering, and living blurred between the passing of bodily shadows and light. The time and space allowed me to recalibrate, rethink and experiment. My practice benefited from ideas fermented during the residency, branching out into prepositions that involve drawing, painting and sculpture. I am utmost thankful for the tenderness and care cultivated by the Xenia family. It is the exchange between human beings and nature, beings to beings, that have formed the most poetic and profound memories etched in me for a long time to come."
