Education
Helen Johannessen graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2017, she was subsequently awarded a scholarship by the Anglo Swedish Society to undertake a post graduate semester at Konstfack University in Stockholm. Her porcelain artworks from her studies led her to win the Franz Rising Star 2018, part of her prize was an Artist in Residency in Jingdezhen, China where she expanded her research into the ‘process as the outcome’.
Helen was selected as the Zsu Zsi Roboz scholar at Morley College London 2019-2021 and completed the project with gallery show ‘Figuratively Speaking’ In 2020 she was awarded the inaugural Presidential Award from the Heritage Crafts Association for her contribution to Industrial Ceramics throughout her career. She took part in Xenia’s ’Leave the Road, Take the Trail’ 2021 as a summer resident with her partner, Vic Lee.
