My time at Xenia Creative Retreat was a gift. A replenishing safe space, surrounded by the beautiful sights and sounds of nature. A clean slate, a thinking tank, a nest. I used the space and time here to explore new ways of working, practice new skills, and utilise the rich environment both materially and metaphorically.
My residency has been pivotal in my exploration of a new medium through the creation of my first artist book, collaborating with Nico Kos in weaving together a document of our reflections about safe spaces, memory, small rituals and the healing power of nature. I'm delighted for all the future artists who I know will have an amazing time here. Thank you sincerely for this experience."
