"Xenia residency is a blessing of safe space to create, and I’m very lucky to be a part of it!
The moment I entered the gates, I felt this tingly feeling of calmness, excitement, healing and belonging. The landscape full of blooming flowers, butterflies, bees and life gave me inspiration and enabled me to slow down and focus on myself and my artwork. I walked around the farm every day and observed small details and changes in nature that helped me to connect to my inner process. During my stay, I had the opportunity to research, explore and experiment with different techniques and styles of photography, leading to breaking free from my own boundaries.
Xenia residency has been a massive milestone in my journey as an artist.

Danielle Barkat is a multidisciplinary artist working with flowers, plants and other botanical raw/dried materials. I own ‘Modest’ an independent floral art studio in Tel Aviv, specializing in Israeli agriculture, local and seasonal. Content digital creator and owner of a ‘Modest’ Instagram account with over 5K followers.
Her current body of work focuses on female sexuality. Raising questions about how society defines what is feminine or masculine and the essence of androgyny. In her work, she explores her body as an androgynous canvas.
